There has been a recent rise in motorbike theft in the Merseyside town of St Helens.  According to the St Helens Star the spree has sparked advice from the police to encourage motorbike and scooter owners to keep their bikes securely locked up in sheds or garages.  They go onto advise owners to also use a disc lock on the front brake disc or other locks, chain bikes up, and cover them up if they are in public.  Always remove keys from the ignition and use a steering lock.  Alarms can be great too and some come with anti-grab and movement sensors.  To aid recovery of your bike, in the event it is stolen, mark your bike parts with specialist security markings.
